Description: I was never interested in hand planes until a few weeks ago I bought a dollar store chinese block plane to chamfer corners like some guys do on Youtube. And I was amazed at the possibilities it offers, for small work it can do the job of a jointer. And since a noisy, dust making jointer will never fit in my shop, I decided to look for a decent quality used Stanley plane, since the chinese one is really crappy. Beginner's luck (or me being the village's idiot, that remains to be seen) the only plane available in my price range was this Stanley No 3 type 10 (made in 1907-1909) that the seller didn't overpriced it as a "collectible" because he had no clue it is a Stanley, he thought the maker was Bailey. That's how I ended up with this gem, and will restore her to a working order. I don't plan to make this plane museum quality but I'll try not to ruin her, in case someone smarter than me wants to restore her another one hundred years from now. =============== If you enjoyed this video please subscribe, it's free and will allow you to see my future uploads. I try to add new content every week. My name is Steve and on this channel I plan to post videos of the things I make in my very, VERY small shop set up in a closet. Some will be shop projects and homemade tools, some will be toys for my daughter and some will be home improvements I make around my house. =============== Music by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License. freemusicarchive.org/music/Kevin_MacLeod/Blues_Sampler/Hustle
